The Chairman apologizes for Bobby’s irresponsible comments
In the wake of what was a very embarrassing for the Kaizer Chiefs family as a whole, the Chairman of the club, Kaizer Motaung has come out and apologized for the damage caused by his son’s comments yesterday at the press conference. In his effort to put out a fire started by Bobby, the chairman talks about how important we (the fans) are to the club and stresses that it was unfortunate that his son said what he said yesterday. `
I still say drastic actions need to be taken about Bobby’s irresponsible utterances. Something that will remind him of who pays for his bread and butter. Without wasting any of your time, here’s the statement released by the Chairman:
Following the press conference yesterday when the team’s captaincy issue was addressed and at which the Football Manager made certain unfortunate comments, I would like to convey, with great humility, my heartfelt regret and unreserved apologies at the offence these comments have caused to many of our supporters; people who are at the heart of Kaizer Chiefs.
We are only here because of their support over the years and I would like to assure our supporters that we will never take their support for granted; we sincerely appreciate that Kaizer Chiefs’ success has been due to their unflinching support whether we have won or lost.
Like most teams we too have our challenges and because of our profile some of these challenges have to be addressed under the glare of the public eye. The emotive nature of the game of soccer means that, at times, comments are made in the heat of the moment and should be considered in that light. This is however not making light of certain comments which I consider are inappropriate.
We intend to do our utmost to honour the support we receive and I personally would like to reassure our supporters that my personal endeavour is to make them proud of being Kaizer Chiefs fans by winning and by conducting ourselves with grace and humility.
Issued by;
Mr. Kaizer Motaung
Executive Chairman

The unfortunate part about this whole matter is Kaizer Motaung Snr would have never said those this yesterday. Bobby Motaung must apologise for what he said in the press. Anyway it is too late now.
Ag I don’t buy this apology to be honest!
Nna ebile I’m thinking of Leaving this team!
Too much unnecessary Politics!
Why is Kaizer apologising for something done by Bobby?
Let Bobby call another press briefing to apologise. Even if he does not mean it, for me it would feel good for him to publicly eat his words. I hope this was from the chairman not the spin doctors at Chiefs. I want to challenge khosi fans to join the campaign: “Fire the football manager” we have had enough of being insulted by Bobby with the excuse that there will be apologies later. Fire the football manager
Agreed!
Bobby must just go finish and klaar. Apology or no apology the games must be boycotted
Daddy comes to the rescue..we all know Bobby wil never apologise,he thinks he is invicible..all we can do is get behind our boys, for kaizer snr’s sake,he understands what Kaizer Chiefs stands for
I don’t need an apology from Bobsteak as it wouldn’t be sincere, anyway. I do, however, have massive respect for Kaizer not only because of his latest action but because he always allows his designated employees (of which Bobby is one, most unfortunately) to perform their duties without interfering too much. He let the manager and the coach hold the press conference in the obvious belief that they would serve to douse the flames arising from the captaincy saga and the poor run of form, I can only imagine the shock AND horror he felt upon hearing/reading of the behaviour and words of the general manager and coach of one of the biggest football teams on the African continent. Bobby and VV obviously had enough time to plan their speeches (hence the presser) and had every intention of flexing their proverbial muscles, which was not the brightest approach as I’m sure the team and technical staff morale is at an all time low
Well put!
I totally agree!
I say let us boycott games in support of the “Fire the Football Manager” campaign. We have had enough of Bobby’s nonsense. Bobby must leave that position for someone who will do justice to that critical position. perhaps he should become the PR person as he forcefully does PR anyway.
Peace magents!remember our kaizer chiefs slogan??LOVE & PEACE.let’s not solve wrong with wrong.can u imagine how our negativ coments r doing 2 our players?do u think theyl perform wel if they anticipate a boycot or bad placards??plc tlogelang go thabisa dira ‘AmaPieRats’ & let’s peacefuly acept Motaung snr apology, hope Boby wil b man enough 2 send his, stop asking 4 his resignation & giv him a 2nd chanc or a 4th 4 that matter, make PEACE & let bygons b bygons, then take peaceful & wining spirit 2 PeterMokaba on saturday.Luv & Peace, the glomour boys of Phefeni Rise aBafana boGuthula noXolo Rise.Ama…kh..o.si!
I am tired of this bobby. We have to show him that we are chiefs! We made, and we will continue to make chiefs what it is. If we agrea to stay away. What will chiefs be?
I think Bra K is doing damage control, if he is then he must reinstate Tau as Captain then I’ll see who the real Chairman is in our team. BoBBY must VOETSEK MAKHOSI man
I will be SUPPORTING JOMO COSMOS on Tuesday here in PE.
I don’t think boycotting the games is the solution. That would be punishing everyone including the players and we all know the moemish is Bobby! I think he must stick to being the manager and leve the PR to somebody else.Where is Thebe anyway? Better yet bring back Putco!
Thebe’s no longer PRO, he’s been re-deployed to another position in the club I was told…
Maybe they should hire you as the PRO, what do you think?
I dnt want bobby’s apology, I want him out, I am joining the “fire the manager” campain. I spent my hard earned money on tickets n membership fees, at tha end m spoken too like I’m piece of rubbish, m soooo pisssed, HAMBA BOBBY pls
Now I’m left to wonder if Bobby’s attitude could be the reason players shun Chiefs when the opportunity is there to sign them.
Otherwise, I think it is better to leave the supporting of this team to the family until the arrogant manager is relieved of his duties.
Come on peace loving fans of Amakhosi amahle learn 2 plant peace among us so that gud can cum 2 us,our continued negativity e tlo invita badluck.leav the Tau isue 2 work itself out.thru his evr so cum & hardworking ways wil earn him the captancy back.just wait & c,he was not KC player of the year last year by crook he does wel & wil continue 2 do so.u can nvr bring down a gud man even when u demote him,if hs gud hs gud!’finish & klaar’same aplies 2 us,Bobys iresponsible uterances can nvr make us luv Amakhosi less,we r AMAKHOSI 4 LIFE.it is his los if he doesn’t apologise, let’s move ahead & meet @ PeterMokaba with our ful gear, our Vuvuzelas on high note,& encourage our boys 2 Rise Khosi Rise!& hope our 4giving spirit wil mov down 2 Boby & VV 2 hav gud spirit & stop kiling the progres of the club & its fans.2geda we stand & divided we fall.Lo…o..v & pe…a..c!Ama…kh..o.si 4 Life!
Apology accepted mr Motaung.
But can you please give v v a break, atleast for 3 matches & let maybe mr ace khuze take over, i’m sure than he wil do a huge difference. I personally ‘as a chiefs supporter’ think that if v v continues to couch we wil not win a thing this season. V v thinks that he is above the club, he has no respect for the supporters at all & he is using favouritizm among the players & thats is killing the morale & confidence of the players.
Thanks for lettng mr V.v go u’ve done a gud work thnks a lot
